When is the TARA booking deadline for 2027 entry?

Booking for the October 2026 sitting closes on Monday 28 September 2026 at 6pm UK time. January 2027 booking opens on 26 October 2026 at 3pm and closes on 21 December 2026 at 6pm UK time.

Can I take the TARA in January?

Only if none of your TARA applications requires October. Oxford applicants with the 15 October UCAS deadline must sit in October. UCL applicants and Oxford PPE with Foundation Year applicants can use either sitting, and you can sit only once per cycle.

What if the TARA test centres near me are full?

We cannot see live seats; only Pearson's booking system can. UAT-UK says UK candidates who cannot find a test within 40 miles of their postcode should contact Pearson Customer Services. Oxford gives the contact as UAT-UKcustomerservice@pearson.com, or 0800 731 9905 in the UK.

How much does the TARA cost?

£78 at a test centre in the UK or Republic of Ireland and £133 elsewhere, set by where the centre is. UK candidates who qualify can apply for a bursary that covers the full fee, but only before they book.

Which TARA days apply in China, Hong Kong and Macau?

Wednesday 14 October 2026 in the October window and Thursday 7 January 2027 in the January window. UAT-UK says it cannot make exceptions.
