UCL publishes no TARA scores against offers for this course, so any percentage would be invented. The 3 public self-reports with both scores contradict each other: the same Problem Solving score of 3.9 appears with an offer and with a rejection.

Why these prove nothing about odds. People choose whether to post, scores are unchecked, and grades, statements and context are missing. They do show that no single score decides the outcome.

What would let anyone calculate a chance? UCL publishing applicants and offers by TARA score band, for a full cycle. Oxford’s first TARA offers come in 2027; we will update this page when outcome data appears.

What it covers

The 16 Oxford and UCL courses listing TARA for 2027 entry. Evidence is what the universities publish, public freedom of information responses, and first-person public self-reports found by search up to 26 September 2026.

Method

  1. For each course we list whether applications, offers, outcomes by score, and TARA score-linked outcomes are published, with links.
  2. We searched published freedom of information responses. The one relevant response found is historical (Oxford PPE, TSA era) and its spreadsheet could not be downloaded.
  3. We kept every public first-person report that pairs a TARA result with a UCL decision: four, three with both module scores. Second-hand reports and scores without module labels were left out.
  4. If you enter scores, we place them among all 2026-entry candidates using the published percentiles, which is a separate question from chances.

Uncertainty and limits

  • Self-reports are self-selected, unverified and missing grades, statements and context. They are not a sample.
  • Course-wide rates such as Oxford PPE's 13.8% of applications receiving offers come from the TSA era and describe all applicants, not anyone with a given score.
  • UCL's figure of 5,549 applications for 210 places counts places, not offers, so no offer rate follows from it.

What the answer means

The answer is that no one can calculate a personal TARA offer chance from public data today, and why. It does not estimate a chance, a cut-off or a safe score, and never will without published outcomes by score.

Questions people ask

What TARA score do I need for UCL Computer Science?

UCL publishes no TARA cut-off. It says TARA is considered alongside grades and the personal statement, after both sittings. Public self-reports include an offer at Problem Solving 3.9 and a rejection at the same 3.9.

Does UCL rank applicants by the lower of the two TARA scores?

A September 2026 Reddit post quotes a private email saying so. UCL has not published it, so we treat it as unconfirmed.

What are Oxford PPE's offer rates?

In the 2025-26 round, Oxford PPE received 1,885 applications, shortlisted 681 and made 261 offers: 13.8% of applications. That round used the TSA; Oxford uses TARA from 2027 entry.

Why do other sites give TARA offer chances?

Without published outcomes by score, any percentage has to be assumed. We would rather tell you the evidence is missing than give you a number that looks precise and is not.
