TARA score guide
There is no single good TARA score.
UAT-UK does not set a pass mark. Your result is two module scores, read against the cohort and the course you apply for.
How the scale works
1.0–9.0
Scores are reported to one decimal place.

The fixed calibration median.
7.0
The fixed calibration 90th percentile.
UAT-UK publishes 4.5 at the median and 7.0 at the 90th percentile when it explains the yearly scale. Its October candidate distribution puts the 90th percentile at 9.0. These are cohort reference points, not admissions thresholds, and a practice-test percentage cannot be converted into an official TARA score.
What universities see
You receive separate scores for Critical Thinking and Problem Solving. The Writing Task is not scored by UAT-UK. Results go to participating universities when the relevant course uses TARA.
What a score below 7 means
It is not an automatic fail. UAT-UK provides no grade boundaries or pass mark. How a university uses the result varies by course, and most use it alongside the rest of your UCAS application.

What is a good TARA score?

Is a TARA score below 7 a fail?
No. UAT-UK says it does not provide grade boundaries or a pass mark. Universities decide how to use TARA results for each course, usually alongside other UCAS application information.
Do I get one overall TARA score?
No. You receive separate scores for Critical Thinking and Problem Solving. The Writing Task is not scored by UAT-UK.
